Genius Cards 天才牌

A vagrant made a deck out of cardboard and named it Genius Cards.
He says he's a genius. He says everyone who plays him is an idiot. Then he asks if you'd like to sit down and bet a few bottle caps.

Genius Cards is a minigame from the horror puzzle game Haunted House, now released on its own for free. You don't need to have played Haunted House to sit down at the table.

How to Play

• The whole deck is 17 cards: three suits (Gear, Book, Trophy), each numbered 1 to 5, plus two special cards.
• Each player gets 2 hidden cards. The 3 table cards are turned up one at a time. There's a round of betting after the deal and after each table card.
• At the end, you make a hand from your 2 cards plus the 3 on the table. There are 7 hands, from Perfect Score down to Blank Exam.
• Genius is a wild card. At the showdown, you choose which card it becomes.
• Commoner is a blank card. If it shows up anywhere in a hand, the lower hand wins.
• Once per hand, you can pay 2 caps to swap one hidden card.
• Win all of your opponent's caps and you win.

Two Modes

[Play the Vagrant] Play right in your browser
Every hand, he shows you one of his hidden cards. Which one he shows follows a habit, and so does how much he bets. Read him and you can beat him.

[Play a Friend] Also in your browser, nothing to download

• Two computers, playing each other online.
• The host sets the starting caps and the ante.
• Once per hand, before a betting round, you can show one hidden card to your opponent. If you do, they have to put in 1 extra cap.
• Chat and a game log are built in. Press Enter to open them.

How to Connect in Play a Friend

1. One player clicks Host and gets a 6-character table code.
2. Click Copy and send the code to your friend.
3. Your friend clicks Join, pastes the code, and clicks Connect.

• You don't need to set up your router or forward any ports. You can play a friend on a different network.
• A table code works for 10 minutes. If it expires, just host again to get a new one.
• Codes use letters and numbers and aren't case-sensitive.
• The table code is hidden by default and only shows when you click the eye icon, so you won't leak it by accident while streaming or recording. Copy always copies the full code.
• If you can't connect, have both players refresh the page so you're both on the latest version.
